2018 International Cyclocross Rankings
There's A New Leader In The Mix: Annemarie Worst Is The Best...
This week is a tough one for the rankings, with a World Cup and the iconic DVV Flandriencross race (better known to locals as Hamme).
Marianne Vos skipped both events, and some of our usual favorites had rough starts and tough races over the weekend. Does one rough weekend mean a severe drop in rankings, and does one great result—like Lucinda Brand's win in the Tabor World Cup—catapult her into the top of the rankings?
The new chart-topper this week is recently graduated from the U23 field, and is having a great season (so far). And, it's not Ellen Noble! Annemarie Worst took her time easing into the season but she's here in a big way, taking second in Tabor and winning Hamme the next day in an intense battle with most of the sports' top racers.
(Before we dive in, a reminder that the rankings are based on UCI ranking, racing trends this season, and plenty of subjective intel, wild speculation, Instagram Stories and industry gossip.)
