Kristen Faulkner of the United States won Olympic gold in the women's cycling road race in Paris on Sunday, outwitting three rivals late in the 158km run around the city.

USA Cycling's roster for the upcoming road world championships in Wollongong, Australia features familiar faces, talented up and comers, and packs the potential for big results.

Omloop Het Nieuwsblad kicks off the 2022 spring classics, and is the first of the 2022 Flanders Classics, a six-part series featuring some of the sport's most iconic one-day cobbled races.

The UCI Road World Championships road races in Flanders, Belgium take place Sept. 25-26. The Flanders region is a hotbed for professional cycling, known for its steep and often cobbled climbs. Both the elite men's and women's road races begin in Antwerp and feature multiple complex circuits which will give racers and fans a taste of quintessential Belgian bike racing before finishing on Leuven's Geldenaaksevest.

This Sunday, the Amstel Gold Race returns after its 2020 hiatus. While many eyes will be fixated on 2019 top finishers Kasia Niewiadoma (Canyon // SRAM) and Annemiek Van Vleuten (Movistar Team), there are several riders with a shot at upsetting the two favorites. 

The depth of the women's peloton has led to unpredictable and explosive racing during this year's spring classics. With the inaugural women's Paris-Roubaix postponed until October 2nd, all eyes turn to the Tour of Flanders this Sunday.
