The cycling transfer season has officially begun. As of August 1, after the Tour de France concludes, teams and riders are able to announce their new contacts for the subsequent season. This 2022/2023 transfer market sees several top riders searching for greener pastures.

The Ardennes Classics get underway this Sunday, April 18th, with the return of Amstel Gold. The dramatic change to the route this year due to Covid-19 restrictions have further expanded the prospects for who will be crowned as the next champion. 

Belgian [p:Tim Wellens] won the Etoile de Besseges cycling race after [p:Filippo Ganna] took Sunday's closing time trial, ending a five-year French stranglehold on the event.

Belgian rider Tim Wellens out-sprinted Frenchman Guillaume Martin to take the fifth stage of the Vuelta a Espana on Saturday, as defending champion Primoz Roglic finished fourth to retain the overall lead.
