How To Watch The Tour de France 2024 In Canada
The TDF 2024 will be unlike any in the race's history, and all the action will be streaming live in Canada on FloBikes. Here's what to know.
There has never been a Tour de France quite like the one cycling fans will watch in 2024, starting on June 29 with Stage 1.
For the first time in the race's history, the Tour de France will begin in Italy, and for the first time, the race will not finish in Paris.
“It’s a really unique route,” said FloBikes analyst and reporter Gregor Brown. “And it starts with a bang like last year’s Tour de France. The first stage, there’s climbing, second stage there's climbing… the first two stages are already tough stages (and) Tadej Pogačar is going to come out swinging.”

Pogačar is one of the major storylines of this year’s Tour de France.
Already a two-time general classification winner at just 25 years old, Pogačar is trying to complete the rare Giro D’Italia-Tour de France double, which hasn’t been done since 1998.
The course at the 2024 Tour de France also includes rare stages that feature gravel and even a time trial in the final stage.
“(The course) has gravel, Stage 9, 199 kilometers with 32 kilometers of gravel that really gets the fans excited and adds an element of unknown,” Brown said.
Due to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the Tour de France will not finish in Paris, but instead in Nice, France. The race will begin in the heart of Florence, Italy.
The Tour de France is streaming live on FloBikes and the FloSports app in Canada, and Brown said it’s an exciting year for Canadian cycling fans.
Brown noted that 26-year-old Derek Gee of Ottawa, Ontario, is poised to break out at this year’s Tour. Gee won Stage 3 at the 2024 Critérium du Dauphiné and had a strong showing at the 2023 Giro d'Italia.
“Derek Gee, super exciting and great for Canadian fans,” Brown said. “(Gee) came out of nowhere. Is Derek Gee going for GC (general classification) at the Tour de France? The team (Premier Tech) is going to support him for the overall classification. He has a good shot at getting a stage win, I would say.”
