FloBikes and Brent Bookwalter are teaming up for the 2022 Tour de France, this July 1 to 24, to bring our subscribers even greater in depth and on-the-ground footage from the world's best bike race.

Bookwalter comes to FloSports after a massive 14-year professional career that saw him help Cadel Evans to the Tour title in 2011. In that span, racing for BMC Racing and BikeExchange, he notched up 11 grand tours, including the Tour de France four times. With this experience, he will bring a true insider's view to our coverage during the 2022 Tour de France this summer.

"I'm excited to be joining the FloBikes team for this year's Tour de France and experience the Tour from a new perspective," said Bookwalter.

"This is a perfect way to apply and share my experience from racing the Tour on multiple occasions, adding athlete insight which will complement the FloBikes team in conveying all the action, suffering, elation and beauty that the Tour provides."

Bookwalter retired at the end of the 2021 season but continues to ski and ride for fun, including taking part in the UNBOUND gravel race. At the Tour, Bookwalter will be face to face with former teammates like Adam Yates.

"I'm looking forward to the chance to reconnect with teammates, staff and peers from my career who I was racing alongside less than a year ago. As a rider, I always went into The Tour unsure of what to fully expect, but with balanced amounts of eagerness and trepidation. Those same feelings are returning as I look ahead to this new opportunity.

"I can't wait to be part of covering this momentous event with FloBikes."

FloBikes will be publishing in-depth and exclusive Tour de France videos daily and for our Canadian viewers, we will be broadcasting each stage live and on demand.

"I couldn't be more excited to have Brent joining the FloBikes team," said Michal Sheehan, Lead Content Editor at FloBikes. I followed his 16-year career with a great deal of admiration for how he conducted himself both on and off the bike.

"Brent brings a treasure trove of racing knowledge and experience to our Tour de France coverage, and I look forward to once again following him across France this July."

FloBikes' team in France includes International Producer Gregor Brown and Video Producer/Editor Kyler Holland.

"It was always a pleasure following Brent at the races," Brown added.

"I remember the time he shocked us all at the 2010 Giro d'Italia, coming second to Bradley Wiggins in the opening time trial and being there as well in the desert, when he won a Tour of Qatar stage. But more than that, Brent was always that friendly face and well-spoken rider that I enjoyed seeing at the races.

"Now we are on the same team, and I can't wait to make entertaining and behind-the-scenes content side by side for three weeks with Brent this July."

FloBikes has already visited Denmark to preview the first three stages of the Tour de France, with video features to be published in the coming days. The team will be on the ground for the Grand Départ starting June 27.
