World's Most Expensive Road Bike: Storck Fascenario.3 Platinum

Some people hold true to the motto that "you get what you pay for, and you pay for quality." When it comes to cycling, there tends to be different schools of thought around this concept. There are those who believe you can always find a great used bike at store or online for a super cheap price, there those who think you should always get a new bike but for a decent price, and then there are those who are happy to break the bank to get the latest and greatest bicycle on the market.

Of the three different mindsets listed above, the latter will most likely best understand the benefits of purchasing the world's most expensive road bike in 2020, the Storck Fascenario.3 Platinum Aston Martin. Coming in at a resounding $20k, this bike is worth more than a lot of people's cars.

So, what is it about his bike that makes it worth so much, and are riders really getting what they're paying for?

It's Incredibly Fast

Speed speed speed. That's what Storck's Fascenario.3 Platinum is all about. The aerodynamics are advanced to such a level that as you go faster, above 23 mph to be exact, the riding gets easier and easier. The frame is made through a nano-carbon process called dual-resin transfer. The shaping is done through a process called "advanced sectional aerodynamic tubing" which makes the bike cut through the wind like a race car.

The bike is long and rides fairly low to the ground, meaning as a rider you can get a nice forward lean onto the handlebars and maintain high speed with little effort.

It's An All-Around Bike

One of the things that really separates the Fascenario.3 Platinum from other speed demons is that it's also great for riding around on different types of roads. It's more than just a racing bike; it's one you can ride around for commuting or for endurance rides. It's easiest to ride on flat surfaces, and turning corners is no tricky task, requiring little more than a shift of your body weight to change directions.

Thanks to its light-weight nature, the Fascenario is also a relatively easy bike to climb big hills on, and is a pure joy to descend those same hills on.

It's Durable

Storck is renowned for the comprehensive stress testing of its bike frames, and with the Fascneario.3 Platinum it's no different. Rather than simply follow the industry guidelines for measuring the sturdiness of its bikes, Storck takes a more intensive approach, putting the bike frame under intense pressures to test its limits.

The Fascenario manages to remain flexible when the rider needs to be comfortable, and stiff when the rider needs to put additional power into a movement.

Being the most expensive road bike in the world, the Storck Fascenario.3 Platinum is obviously a great ride and made of high quality. Whether it's worth the lofty price tag though? That largely depends on how much additional cash you have to spend, and how much you really believe extra dough leads to better performance.
