MSG chief executive James Durbin commented: “The profile of Six Day Series has increased steadily since launch in 2015, largely down to our broadcast partner strategy. We have grown our global audience year-on-year through tactical multi-territory and local broadcast deals spanning free-to-air and paid channels, which has in-turn strengthened our ability to negotiate commercial partnerships.
"Our aim is to deliver an innovative best-in-class experience for viewers at home, across all platforms and devices. Cycling at the Olympics and Commonwealth Games drives high TV ratings and with it being an Olympic year next year, we believe the 2019/20 season will deliver our highest ratings to date."
Commercial partners for the London event, taking place this week, prove the increasing stature of Six Day Series, with healthcare company Phynova on board as headline sponsor of the event for the second year and the continuation of Singapore Airlines’ multi-territory partnership.
In total, 15 brands from a range of sectors are partnering with Phynova Six Day London this season, using it as a communications platform to promote their products, seven of these being new sponsors of the event.
In the sports and cycling category, sponsors include Kalas, Zwift, Garmin-Tacx, HEXR, Science in Sport, The Bike Club, Muc-Off and Rouleur. Other sponsors include Switzerland Tourism, Eisberg, Get Living, Pure Storage and Levitex join the growing list of event supporters.
Six Day Series 2019/20 season starts in London on October 22 with six nights of exhilarating racing featuring the world’s elite cyclists.
