Isaac Del Toro Wins Milano-Torino 2025 With A Masterful Ride
Isaac Del Toro wins Milano-Torino 2025 with a brilliant sprint on the Superga climb for his first major victory.

Isaac Del Toro claimed his first major European victory with a brilliant ride at Milano-Torino, outsprinting Ben Tulett and Tobias Halland Johannessen on the Superga climb. The 20-year-old UAE Team Emirates rider made his decisive move in the closing meters, sealing a career-defining moment in one of cycling’s oldest races.
Del Toro, one of the rare cyclists from Mexico at the pro level, said, “I feel so happy to give back to those who support me. I can barely believe it. Hopefully, this is the first of many victories this year, but I know I need to keep working hard.”
A Tactical and Well-Timed Effort
The 174-kilometer race saw several attacks throughout the day, but Del Toro timed his effort perfectly. His first acceleration on the steepest part of the climb wasn’t enough to go solo, but it gave him confidence. He played his cards wisely, attacking again at the right moment and winning the sprint against Tulett.
Del Toro credited Adam Yates for believing in him when he wasn’t sure himself. He said, “He believed in me more than I believed in myself. He helped me a lot today.”
Looking Ahead: Milano-Sanremo and the Giro
Looking ahead, the young Mexican is already focused on bigger goals.
“Next," he said referring to Tadej Pogacar, "I will be supporting another rider, but for me, Milano-Sanremo is the big goal. After that, we will see.”
He also confirmed his intention to race the Giro d’Italia, hoping to showcase his talent and gain consistency in one-day races.
