The 31-year-old, who won the 2018 Vuelta a España and is currently with the Jayco-AlUla team, has signed a two-year deal, and will provide valuable assistance to Vingegaard as he attempts to win a third Tour next season.
The fact that his twin brother Adam Yates is Tadej Pogacar's main lieutenant at Team UAE will only add spice to the 2025 Tour.

"He is an excellent climber and a significant boost for our general classification squad," said Visma's sports director Grischa Niermann.
"Simon will have the opportunity to go for his own results with us, but he will also be a valuable asset for the team in the mountains."
