Canadian Cyclists To Watch In The Tour 2024

The 2024 Tour de France is finally here, as Stage 1 of the most grueling cycling race in the world begins in Florence, Italy, for the first time in the race’s 111-edition history. 

The first stage of the tour will begin in the heart of one of the world’s most famous cities at 5:50 a.m. EDT on June 29. 

From there, the race will traverse from Italy for the next several days until spending more than two weeks in France, where cyclists will climb several mountain ranges, including the Pyrenees Mountains and the French Alps. 

Nearly 200 cyclists and 22 race teams will set out Saturday to attempt to cement their legacies with a win in the sport’s most important race. And that includes the two riders who have combined to win the last four Tours, two-time defending champion Jonas Vingegaard and Tadej Pogacar, who won in 2020 and 2021.
